Legacy is an evocative composition for tuba and piano that explores the lyricism and rhythmic capabilities of this instrument, which is traditionally perceived more as an accompanist than a soloist. The piece was dedicated to Mr. Craig Fuller, who served as the professor of tuba and euphonium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for numerous years. It is predominantly constructed on polytonal materials, a characteristic that does not impede the melodic development nor the continuous dialogue between the tuba and the piano.
